You see, when people talk about losing weight, they don’t always comprehend exactly what that means. For nearly everyone fat comes into the mind, when they hear the word weight, but fat is only a part of it.

Surely, it completely depends what you consider ‘fast‘. Many people consider a few days, maybe a week to be fast, while for others it is a month.

To be realistic you should set your goal to lose 15 pounds in a months time, which is achievable if done right. Nonetheless, it is not without risk if the weight loss is not approached correctly.

To lose 15 pounds fast, you can’t just lose water, which of course would be the easiest to lose. Your body needs water to survive. Deprive it of too much water and it will begin to break down.

Starvation or near starvation isn’t the answer either. It is a fact that your body will hold back when you don’t eat, so you might even increase your weight. Denying your body it’s nutrients, will trigger the alarm. In a desperate effort to survive, it hangs onto everything you feed it, which adds weight.

Probably now you will think that you should eat nothing but meat or fish, but I wouldn’t recommend that either, as this option is not very healthy either. To stay healthy, you need to feed your body a diet that gives it all nutrients it requires. A well balanced diet and losing weight can go hand in hand, you only need to know what foods are the right ones to eat. Before starting your weight loss plan, take measurements of your body including your weight and fat content. Special calipers (usually part of a weight loss or fitness center’s tool kit) are used to measure fatty tissue on various areas of your body. Keep these figures handy so you can see your progress.

Here are some things you can do to lose 15 pounds fast:

1) Avoid foods that cause water retention, like salt. Stop using salt and you will see how your weight starts to drop.

2) Eat 5-6 small meals throughout the day to keep your body’s digestive process working.

3) Try to add raw foods to your diet, which require more energy for your body to digest.

4) Drink more the 8 glasses of water during the day, this will help you increase your metabolism.

5) Build up muscle tissue with exercising, more muscles will increase your metabolism.

Re-take your measurements about every week or two and if you aren’t seeing results, adjust your weight loss plan accordingly.
